Filipino Pride Filipino-Norwegian kite boarding ace Christian Tio isn’t settling for less when he competes against the world’s best in the Youth Olympic Games in October in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Tio, the only representative in the Asia and Oceanic regions in the YOG, has his sights set on the gold medal. Christian Tio earned the lone Youth Olympic Games spot after ruling the Iconic Kitesurfing Youth Olympic Asia/Oceania Qualifiers Sunday in Pranburi, Thailand. Tio, one of the Philippines’ fast-rising stars in kite boarding, overcame stiff competition that gathered the best 15 to 18-year-old kite boarders in the continent during the five-day event.
